David Croft has been Honorary Consul for the Republic of South Africa in Yorkshire since 2006. A former Managing Director of Yorkshire Television, David maintains a range of business contacts across the north of England and is now a Director of Carat - the media buying company, which operates offices in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.

A former Vice-Chairman of the National League of Young Liberals and a City Councillor in Liverpool, David was active in the anti-apartheid movement during the mid/late 1970's and early 1980's. He has supported South Africa's transition to democracy with enthusiasm and spends much of his leisure time in the Western Cape, where he has a home.
